A Little More About Kween Bee Candle Co.

Hi, I’m Karrie! Owner of Kween Bee Candle Co.

Kween Bee Candle Co. was started as a dream to make candles for my own personal use. I used to buy the mainstream ones & noticed that after burning them, they would leave black soot on my walls, along with an unnatural smell. As a person with multiple allergies, I wanted something that is a healthy, clean-burning, wonderfully smelling alternative. I searched high & low at all the different waxes & wax blends out there.

The final decision was beeswax, but which one? White wax or yellow wax? Do I blend it myself or have it blended for me? After many hits & misses, I decided to use a beeswax blend. It is a blend of a proprietary combination of ethically sourced beeswax, and renewably coconut, soy, and RSPO palm waxes. It has all the benefits of strict beeswax.

Many of my family & friends asked if I would be selling them. Honestly, selling wasn’t my initial intent After much consideration, I said yes to creating these healthy, clean-burning candles.

My love for the Farmhouse look is the look I wanted, something simple. I do not add color to my candles but can be added for custom pours.

Kween Bee Candle Co. is a woman-owned company located in Northern Nevada. All my candles are individually poured in small batches. I can do custom pours, add color, certain fragrances, or use special vessels (as long as they can withstand the heat of the candle) for an additional fee.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more.

  • I can do custom pours, add color, certain fragrances, or use special vessels (as long as they can withstand the heat of the candle) for an additional fee.

  • Pure beeswax is a renewable resource. Beeswax candles can produce a bright, white light (in the same spectrum as sunlight). They are also drip-less and clean burning.

A natural clean light honey fragrance will be present in unscented candles.

  • Beeswax costs more since the wax is only made by honeybees & the supply is limited.

Honeybees produce wax from the glands on their bodies. It requires a lot of energy. The more wax in a hive, the less honey there is. For every 1-2 pounds of wax, the bees lose around 6 pounds of honey. Hence, beeswax candles cost more to create than their counterparts, soy & paraffin.
